| References | Pyrene is a fluorescent hydrocarbon which emits in blue region. This is a maleimide derivative of pyrenebutyric acid which reacts with thiols. Pyrene is a useful proximity probe because two pyrene residues close to each other exhibit strong excimer fluorescence. |
