A diallyl sulfide found in garlic which shows antimicrobial activity and is an effective chemopreventive compound. Studies suggest that diallyl tetrasulfide may play a vital role in protecting cadmium-induced oxidative damage in the liver. Diallyl tetrasulfide is also a strong inducer of early mitotic arrest and subsequent apoptosis. |
