Astringin

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Astringin is a natural glycoside found in trees. It is produced from natural sources (extraction processes). The product is astringent.


CHEMICAL DESCRIPTION
The chemical formula is C20H22O9. The molecular weight is 406.4 g/mol. The product belongs to the stilbenoids, which is a class of natural water-soluble chemicals. The product is easily isomerised upon UV-B radiation.


PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
The product shall be brown in colour, and shall normally be powdered.


COMPOSITION STATEMENT
The product has a purity >97% as detected by high- performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) connected to UV /Vis detector at 320nm and total absorbance (TIC) 230-600 nm.


STORAGE REQUIREMENTS
The product should be kept in darkness and at low temperatures for storage more than a few days (< -5°C).
