Description

Antigen: synthetic peptide from a portion of human MTA2 amino acids 650-700 · Host: Rabbit · Application(s): IHC and WB · Metastasis Associated 1 Family Member 2 (MTA2), a homologue of human MTA1 and MTA3, is a member of the highly conserved MTA gene family. It is a component of an ATP-dependent nucleosome remodeling (NuRD) and histone deacetylase complex. MTA2 is a nuclear protein that interacts with HDAC1 and HDAC2 and has a functional role in chromatin remodeling and deacetylase activity. MTA2 specifically interacts with p53 and represses p53-dependent transcriptional activation, thereby regulating p53-mediated cell growth arrest and apoptosis. It also inhibits the transcriptional activity of estrogen receptor-α. Northern blot analysis indicates a ubiquitous expression of MTA2.
